As early-stage SMR developers move toward commercialisation, securing initial funding is a critical milestone. At this stage, translating a technical concept into a clear and investor-relevant business case is essential to enable effective engagement with financial and industrial stakeholders.
Damona supported an early-stage SMR developer in preparing for its first fundraising round. The engagement focused on structuring the company’s business plan, developing investor materials, and supporting initial interactions with potential investors and industrial partners.
The objective of the engagement was to build a coherent and investor-ready business case, and to support the client in initiating and structuring its fundraising process.
To meet this objective, Damona conducted the following activities:
- Business plan and financial modelling: Development of a structured business plan and financial model, covering key assumptions, cost structure, deployment approach, and revenue logic, aligned with the maturity of the project.
- Investor materials preparation: Creation of both non-confidential and confidential investor presentations, translating technical and strategic elements into a clear, structured, and investor-aligned narrative.
- Investor identification and engagement: Identification of relevant international investors, organisation of initial discussions, and support during early-stage exchanges.
- Industrial partner engagement: Leveraging Damona’s network to identify potential industrial stakeholders, supporting early validation of use cases and commercial interest.
Damona’s engagement enabled the client to structure its fundraising approach and develop the core materials required for investor discussions, ensuring clarity and consistency across its positioning.
