The trainings focused on:

• The French nuclear supply chain and how the different companies and sites act together. A focus was also put on decommissioning perspectives in this country;
• Nuclear 101, with the physics principles behind nuclear engineering;
• Main decommissioning challenges across the UK nuclear industry;
• The different types of reactor technologies across the world.

This work is still being used to date for new starters in some organisations where we provided those trainings.

Every quarter, a visit is organised, split as follow:

• Site visit;
• Introduction of the engineering behind it;
• The work done by the Fusion For Energy;
• A workshop on how to teach about fusion to teachers.

Consultants from Damona have been involved in the workshop, crafting and managing it to ensure the best transmission of knowledge methods. The activities executed ranged from brainstorming to managing groups of teachers – totalising 40 people – and summarising the wide range of ideas suggested by the teachers from all over the European Union.

At Damona, we highly value such initiatives, as we believe in the importance of promoting science and STEM-related roles to future generations for the benefit of all. The projects completed in September 2023 and March 2024 exemplify how Damona actively engages in social value opportunities and networks, especially within the nuclear and energy sectors.
